"Now I Get It!" Financial Fluency for Next Generation Leaders

Oct. 18, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, Nov. 8,  and Nov. 15 | 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. | Multi-Day Series | Virtual

You can lead a company without developing financial acumen, but not successfully (or for very long!). Too often, next generation successors are either completely left out of, or are overwhelmed by, financial conversations. Now I Get It! empowers emerging leaders to understand their company’s financial data, giving them the confidence to engage in the conversation and make better business decisions.

Next gen leaders will learn to forecast easy or challenging financial times, and will see the connection between company activities, responsibilities, and financial results. Participants will learn to accurately read and interpret their financial statements, so they can ask relevant and useful questions regarding that information.

Principles Course

Oct. 6 | 7:30 a.m. (Breakfast), 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. (Program) | Goering Center, Room 359

This 90-minute program is more than an orientation to the Goering Center and its core offerings; it is your opportunity to meet other new members, build your network, and become part of our business community. Owners should bring key personnel, including their leadership team and any family members who work in the business, or may have an ownership interest now or in the future.

Breakfast Series: Workplace Wellbeing

Oct. 27 | 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. | Breakfast Series | Hilton Garden Inn Cincinnati Midtown

Seventy percent of adults have experienced trauma in their lifetimes, bringing its residual effects to the workplace. Add to this the chronic stress and burnout that is prevalent across our society post pandemic, and it becomes easy to see how poor mental health can masquerade as poor performance, and culture-killing behavior. The solution starts at the top, with leaders recognizing the signs in their selves and in their people, and learning how to respond in a way that strengthens individuals while creating a culture of compassion. *Core members receive three complimentary registrations to Breakfast Series programs.

Next Generation Institute®

Kicks off Nov. 29 | Hybrid program consisting of 12 sessions

Begin your succession journey with the Goering Center. At our flagship institute, we shine a light on the issues family business owners, and their successors, could not anticipate in a caring, supportive environment. Sessions are conducted by experts in law, transition planning, valuation, tax, accounting and finance, contingency planning, communication and the dynamics of families in business together. We feature guest speakers from regional family businesses who want to share their succession experience, and a team of volunteers support each family, making the program content relevant and actionable.

Mastering Gentelligence®: Understanding & Leveraging Generational Diversity in the Workplace

Nov. 10 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | Luncheon Series | Graduate Hotel Cincinnati

Mind the gap! We now have five generations in the workplace, and many leaders view this dynamic as a frustration and a challenge. Learn how the strategy of Gentelligence®  can help your organization leverage generational diversity as an opportunity and a competitive advantage. Understand the barriers that often prevent organizations (and individuals) from intergenerational collaboration, and learn the four key practices of Gentelligence and ways to apply them to workplace challenges.

Roundtable Overview

Nov. 17 | 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. | Complimentary Overview | Goering Center, Room 359

Our Executive Roundtables provide an opportunity for collaborative peer sharing about strategic and tactical business issues, within the larger context of your personal and family concerns. Consider this your very own board of advisors, whose number-one goal is to help you restore balance. In this complimentary Overview, participants will experience a “trial” roundtable meeting to see if this opportunity is right for them. *Overview reserved for CEOs/Owners/Founders only.
