Withrow University High School of Business Pathway to Lindner

Are you a Withrow student who is interested in problem solving? Do you enjoy math? Are you seeking challenging coursework that can provide you with free college credit? This program may be just right for you!

Building from a shared mission of empowering problem solving through business, the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business and Withrow University High School of Business have partnered to provide opportunities for high school students to engage with university-level business coursework.

The Withrow University High School of Business Pathway to Lindner program introduces college-level coursework to students while they are still in high school, allowing them to earn college credit and be prepared for study at any college or university.

Free College Credit

Withrow students eligible for this program can earn free college credit for any college or university.

This program is designed to provide eligible Withrow students access to five University of Cincinnati business courses:

  • Accounting 2081: Financial Accounting
  • Economics 1001: Introduction to Microeconomics
  • Entrepreneurship 2001: Essentials of Entrepreneurship
  • English 1001: English Composition
  • Math 1021: College Algebra

These college courses are available at no cost through the State of Ohio College Credit Plus program. Additionally, courses are taught at Withrow High School by qualified Withrow teachers in partnership with faculty at the Lindner College of Business.

Through these courses, students build a foundation of what to expect in any college or university business program. Ultimately, students that participate in all five courses are eligible for a guaranteed admissions pathway to the Lindner College of Business.

Peer-to-Peer Mentorship

In addition to coursework, Withrow students will be paired with Lindner students for peer-to-peer mentoring that will take place on both Withrow and UC campuses.

These Lindner students are active in the college's unique Business Fellows program and will provide firsthand access, knowledge and advice about a traditional university experience.

Access to Lindner

Withrow students engaged in this pathway program will have at least one opportunity to visit the Lindner College of Business each academic year.

These visits include Business Fellows mentorship meetings, chances to meet Lindner faculty, campus tours, information sessions and college access workshops addressing topics such as how to apply for college or choosing a major. This access is designed to create familiarity for students to increase their level of comfort.
