Goering Center Rising Leader Award
About the Grypp Rising Leader Award
One of a leader's key responsibilities is to identify and develop future leaders. To demonstrate its commitment to this region’s future generation of leaders, the Goering Center honors one Rising Leader at its annual Family and Private Business Awards. By investing in a rising generation of leaders, we lay a foundation for succession, and by acknowledging the accomplishments of these rising leaders, we create highly engaged and motivated teams. These new leaders shape the future of our companies and collectively grow our regional economy.
Named for and acknowledging past president Larry Grypp's leadership accomplishments, the Grypp Rising Leader Award is awarded to one Rising Leader nominated by their Goering Center member company for demonstrating success at advancing one of the Goering Center's 10 Best Practices of Successful Family and Private Businesses.
Nomination Process and Award Criteria
The eighth annual Rising Leader nomination process will run from October 2023 until June 2024. Nominations are due by the last business day of every month. An independent panel of judges will select one finalist each month, for a total of nine finalists. Finalists are chosen for their demonstrated success in advancing one of the 10 Best Practices Successful Family and Private Businesses.
Nominees must be on a leadership or succession track of a Goering Center member family or private business, and will assume senior leadership positions within the next 5 – 15 years. The Goering Center will showcase all Rising Leader finalists in our publications and at our annual Family and Private Business Awards in September. By publicly acknowledging their accomplishments, the Goering Center will help establish them – and the companies they work for – as Rising Leaders in Greater Cincinnati’s business community.
