Meet the Goering Center Team
Carol is a former Fortune 500 Executive with 30 years of experience successfully leading profitable, global businesses within the manufacturing and distribution industries. As she stepped into her second act – management consulting, executive coaching and board service – she also became a volunteer at the Goering Center. This volunteer experience transitioned to her current role as president of the non-profit organization that is affiliated with the Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati where she has also served as an adjunct professor. Carol - having grown up in a family business – is dedicated to making a distinct difference in the success of the family and private business member companies and in the Greater Cincinnati region. Carol serves on the Life Learning Center Board along with 3 for profit boards – Wright Brothers Global Gas, R B Tool & Manufacturing and New Riff Distillery. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
David joined the Goering Center in February 2018 as the New Member Engagement Director after spending over 30 years in various leadership roles in the local media space under both public and private business ownership structures. Most recently, he was a managing partner and COO with CBD Media & Kith Media, serving small, private business enterprises in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. David’s passion is education-based enterprises and working with small businesses and individuals to improve business outcomes. David and his wife, Kathy, have three young adult children and reside in Cincinnati.
Kamela (Kam) our Director of Programs & Marketing at the Goering Center joined the team in 2023. In this role, Kam will be instrumental in shaping our initiatives, infusing each program with innovation and creativity. Her strategic vision and unwavering dedication will drive the mission forward, creating meaningful connections within our community and guiding us toward excellence.
Kamela comes to the Goering Center with over 25 years of marketing and program management experience. Her previous experience includes professional and financial services, as well as manufacturing and sales in small, privately owned, and mid-sized businesses. Kamela also served in the United States Air Force.
Lisa Bruns, M.A., is a seasoned executive assistant with a Master's in Education from Ball State University and a Bachelor's in Secondary Education from Indiana University. She combines administrative expertise and educational leadership, excelling in project improvement, organizational leadership, and executive support. Previously, as Center Director at the Springer School and Center, Lisa spearheaded educational initiatives, managed strategic partnerships, and directed special education training programs. Known for her strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, Lisa also serves as Vice President, Publicist, and Webmaster for Delta Theta Tau, enhancing the sorority's online presence and communication strategies.
Chad comes to the Goering Center from CSV Marketing, a Manufacturers’ Representative firm based in Vermilion, Ohio. At CSV, he had the responsibility for B2B sales of industrial tools, supplies and safety equipment in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana regions.
Chad also has extensive experience in the Insurance industry both as an Agency Owner and as a Field Specialist with State Farm and Allstate companies. His strengths include Business Development, Relationship Management, Team Leadership, Strategy, Data Analytics and CRM. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a BS in Marketing.
Nancy joined the Goering Center in April 2023 as Membership Development Manager, primarily responsible for new Member recruitment and Member lifecycle management. Nancy brings extensive experience in business development, sales, and fundraising in the Corporate, Community, and Non-Profit sectors. Most recently, she was Philanthropy Officer at Meals on Wheels Southwest OH & Northern KY. Nancy’s passion is connecting to build meaningful relationships. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. Nancy and her husband David have four adult children, six grandchildren, and reside in Lebanon where she is a member of Rotary Club of Lebanon.
Pam joined the Goering Center team in 2024 as Roundtable Program & Volunteer Coordinator. In her role, she is responsible for development, implementation and execution of the Roundtable Program strategy, and recruitment and coordination of Goering Center volunteers. Pam has over 25 years of experience as a financial services executive leading corporate initiatives and talent development.
Pam is a lifelong resident of the Greater Cincinnati area and has served on several boards including the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and the Boone County Public Library Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and currently resides in Northern Kentucky.
Maya Heilmayer has joined the Goering Center as the Office and Operations Manager. In this role, she will work on event planning, as well as operating processes and procedures.
Maya graduated from the University of Cincinnati in December of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Her previous roles were in customer service.
Her hobbies include playing soccer, enjoying the outdoors, and crafting.
Sue joined the University of Cincinnati Economics Center in 2012 as the Business Manager, and later that year, expanded her role to include the Goering Center. Sue's responsibilities include all accounting functions, as well as strategic long and short range forecasting and budgeting. Sue received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1990 from the University of Cincinnati. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
