Aviatra Accelerators
Aviatra Accelerators is a non-profit organization focused on creating opportunities for female entrepreneurs through business education programs, developing connections through mentorship, and by providing access to capital through their micro-lending program.
What started as an opportunity to help women-owned businesses in one city has grown into a statewide organization, educating thousands of female entrepreneurs. From its inception in 2010, Aviatra’s effectiveness has been proven as it rapidly has grown to serve over a thousand women throughout Ohio and Northern Kentucky, and help secure nearly $700,000 in loans.
Aviatra has two, nine-week programs conducted by business owners and professionals from the local community for specialized business essential courses like web and social media, marketing, branding, legal, accounting, cash flow, pricing, financing, credit and elevator pitch, each program is held twice a year.
Anyone can choose to participate in EXPLORE, which is focused on idea validation, and creating a business plan framework through completion of the Business Model Canvas. LAUNCH is a business competition in which, small business owners apply and are selected to compete for up to $25,000 in loan financing. In LAUNCH, participants come out with a well-prepared business plan to seek capital and take their business to the next level. They are currently based in Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio.
If you are a UC student entrepreneur, you can attend various business education courses in areas such as marketing, sales, finance, and accounting through Aviatra’s nine-week programs. They have three different classes offered: EXPLORE Phase, LAUNCH Phase, and GROW Phase, which is a workshop format held monthly. Each of these classes respectively provides more experience to entrepreneurs as their ventures progress.
