Message from the Dean

Dear Lindner alumni, partners and friends,

Marianne Lewis wears a red blazer and white shirt.

Marianne Lewis, PhD, Lindner dean and professor of management.

As I reflect on this past academic year, I feel even more honored to lead the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. Our college is exceptionally positioned to meet rising educational challenges. In a time when the value of higher education is often questioned, Lindner’s distinctions continue to fuel innovative opportunities that propel student success and return on investment.

Lindner is defined by grit. Transformational learning is driven by hands-on problem solving, high standards and unwavering support. Our faculty, staff, alumni and employer partners challenge and champion our students, knowing that pressure creates strength.

One of our greatest distinctions is cooperative education.

Co-op marks a 120-year tradition at UC and continues to power career-defining student outcomes. As the leading co-op business school, our students completed more than 1,000 paid, professional experiences with employer partners this year, making a real-world impact while developing their skills, confidence and resilience.

In this issue of Portfolio, you’ll find powerful examples of Lindner grit in action that I’m proud to witness daily. From advanced AI in classrooms to inspiring alumni role models to customized employer development programs, each story is a reminder that Lindner is advancing the modern workforce.

I invite you to get involved. Hire a co-op. Mentor a student. Host a site visit. Join a center or institute. However you choose to engage, your involvement strengthens Lindner and our students.

Thank you for being part of our momentum. Let’s keep moving forward — together.

Be well, and go Bearcats!

Marianne W. Lewis, PhD

Dean and Professor of Management
