SCORE
SCORE is a nonprofit organization founded in 1964 helping businesses get started, grow, and operate effectively. The organization offers free business counselling for existing and new businesses as well as free or low cost business workshops. They have a wide network of mentors comprised of retired local senior level executives from a variety of fields in business providing business counseling in a one on one setting. SCORE also conducts several low cost, free or online events and workshops focusing on valuable information necessary for establishing and managing new or existing businesses successfully.
Their 320-plus chapters hold events and workshops locally across the U.S. and its territories, and match up entrepreneurs with local, volunteer mentors.
By providing mentorship and sharing ethically sound business practices, SCORE's nationwide initiatives help entrepreneurs and small business owners at various stages in their professional lives. SCORE partners make many of these small business initiatives possible. Their support and guidance allows us to offer a complete range of opportunities all across the country.
If you are a UC student entrepreneur, you can take advantage of free mentoring opportunities from local senior level executives across a wide variety of businesses. SCORE also holds various workshops and eveents that students can attend to learn more about establishing and managing a successful small business.
