Goering Center Names 75 Semi-Finalists in Annual Search for Top Greater Cincinnati Businesses
Six “best in class” regional companies will win at the 19th annual Family & Private Business Awards on September 11, 2018.
Cincinnati, Ohio – July 18, 2018 Seventy-five family and private businesses have been named semi-finalists in the annual search for top regional businesses conducted by the University of Cincinnati Goering Center for Family & Private Business.
More than 450 businesses were nominated for the awards. An independent panel of judges had the challenging task of identifying 75 semi-finalists and the winners who will be honored at the September 11, 2018 Family & Private Business Awards celebration. At the event, six businesses will receive the top award in their category and 12 will earn the designation as finalist.
The Goering Center created the awards to honor the unique contribution made by Greater Cincinnati’s thriving family and private business community. Awards represent the full range of private and family business, including small and large businesses, start-ups and famous Greater Cincinnati brands.
“We want to recognize all the businesses who submitted applications for the Family and Private Business Awards and we especially want to thank our panel of judges who put so much time and energy into reviewing and providing thoughtful consideration to each and every application – it’s quite a big job,” said Carol Butler, president, Goering Center.
Companies submitted applications that summarized their accomplishments in the following areas: a big business breakthrough that set the business on a new trajectory; an approach to leadership and employee development that shows a commitment to team members’ personal growth; shaping a culture for performance, inclusion and engagement; community development; and job growth and investment.
“It was our job as judges to pick the company in each of the categories that was best able to articulate their impactful story and best enlighten us as to how they fit into the fabric of a successful business community,” said Mike Miller, Executive Vice President and Trust Department Head, LCNB National Bank. “It was a tough challenge, but we believe that our choices reflect the very best of the Family and Private business community.”
