Life at Lindner

The moments that defined the 2023-24 academic year at Lindner.

Decision Day

UC surprises Marian Spencer Scholar Zamir Frazier at Riverview East Academy on Decision Day.

On January 22, UC surprised six students from Greater Cincinnati high schools with an official acceptance letter to UC, a scholarship, and pomp and circumstance. Among the 2024 Decision Day honorees was Zamir Frazier (pictured above), who is now studying business economics at Lindner.

Co-op Collaboration

A partnership with UC Athletics meant Lindner co-op students received airtime at football, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball games.

I think part of addressing the mental health crisis is prevention and education. And it's destigmatizing help-seeking, not just among students, but making staff and faculty aware also."

More than 1,000 first-year students stopped by Lindner a few days before the official first day of class in late August, familiarizing themselves with classroom locations, the First-Year Experience and student organizations.

Lindner Women in Business hosted its 11th annual Empowerment Day on March 2, bringing more than 20 speakers to advise, mentor and interact with 250 attendees comprised of UC and high school students. Speakers for the nine breakout sessions were either alumni or close supporters of Lindner.

The Lindner Hall atrium buzzed with joy and fulfillment following commencement ceremonies, as new Lindner graduates posed for pictures and enjoyed the company of family, friends, classmates, faculty and staff members during open house events.

Phil D. Collins Appears on Bearcats Mean Business

Collins, a Lindner alumnus and the chair of UC’s Board of Trustees, joined Lindner’s new podcast to recall his days as a student working for Carl H. Lindner, extend personal and professional advice to current students, and discuss why he stays engaged with Lindner and UC.

Royal Treatment

The 2023 Homecoming Court all sported Lindner affiliations. The 2022 Homecoming King and Queen, two Lindner graduates, welcomed the new royalty.

Trailblazer Scholars Pilot Universal Co-op

In 2023-24, the first phase of Lindner universal co-op launched. More than 250 ambitious students — referred to as ‘Trailblazer Scholars’ — opted in, hungry to explore career options, and build their skills, resumes and networks. Nearly a quarter of the Trailblazer Scholars completed a co-op in their first year of college. This cohort will complete at least two paid, professional experiences before graduating.

MBA Cohort Celebration

A large group of MBA graduates and Lindner MBA stakeholders pose for a group picture.

Class of 2024 full-time MBA graduates gathered on April 18 with Lindner faculty and staff to celebrate each other’s accomplishments, laugh and debate cohort superlatives such as “most charismatic” or “dressed to impress,” and hear from Lindner alumnus Richard Findlay, BBA ’69, MBA ’70. Students also took the MBA Oath, a voluntary pledge to proceed ethically and responsibly in their professional endeavors.

Project Management Institute Visits Lindner

The Southwest Ohio and Dayton/Miami Valley chapters of the Project Management Institute (PMI) welcomed 200 members to Lindner Hall on November 18 for a summit centered around the theme of “redefining project success.” Chanda Monroe-Williams, adjunct instructor in operations, business analytics, and information systems, facilitated the partnership between PMI and Lindner.
