Andrew Manning
Andrew P. Manning is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Marketing, Carl H. Lindner College of Business, where he lectures on Consumer Understanding & Research. He is a Cultural Anthropologist, PhD The University of Texas at Austin, and is also employed at The Procter & Gamble Company. At P&G Dr. Manning uses his anthropological training to gain a deep holistic understanding of the consumer from their habits and practices to their deep structural and tacit knowledge. Working with Industrial designers, Formulators, Product designers, Marketers, and Advertising agencies these insights are used to create product design, chemistry, concepts, and messaging. Brands Dr. Manning has/is working with include Tide, Dawn, Bounty, Charmin, Swiffer, Cascade, Febreze, Mr. Clean and Pampers. Prior to joining the Carl H. Linder College of Business Dr. Manning was a Research Fellow at the Kettering Foundation, Adjunct Professor The University of Cincinnati Department of Anthropology, and a Hospital Corpsman 2nd Battalion 5th Marine Infantry.
