Scholarships
The Department of Economics and the Kautz-Uible Economics Institute invite undergraduate economics students to apply for various awards, scholarships and fellowships each academic year.
Below is a listing of the fellowships and awards typically available in a given academic year for students majoring (or possessing a double major) in economics or business economics.
Scholarships are made available each academic year, with the application period typically closing at the end of February. Check back for information about applying for scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year.
Scholarship amount
$3,000 ($2,500 tuition scholarship, plus $500 for any study abroad program offered by the economics department. If no study abroad program is offered, during a specific year, you may apply the $500 towards your tuition.)
Renewable?
Up to two years for undergraduate studies. An additional year if the student continues on to the MS Applied Economics program at the University of Cincinnati. Renewal is subject to approval of the Kautz-Uible Economics Institute.

- Sophomore or second-year status during academic year of award.
- Completion of ECON 1001 or ECON 1002 or equivalent.
- Economics or Business Economics major during undergraduate studies.
- Participation in the Undergraduate Economics Society.
- Participation in the events organized by the Kautz-Uible Economics Institute.
- Maintenance of 3.5 or above GPA.
- Membership in the Kautz-Uible Fellows LinkedIn group.
