Real Estate

What is Real Estate?

Everyone has an opinion about real estate. Perhaps the term conjures up images of HGTV, selling houses, or famous developers. Real estate studies focus on the institutions, legal and economic principles that guide the development and shape of the communities that we live in. Studying real estate goes beyond the well-known mantra of location, location, location and seeks to answer questions such as what makes a particular location valuable, who will want to use the space, how much is the space worth, and how will it be paid for. A real estate degree or specialization will appeal to people who are curious about the environment around them and want the tools and knowledge to help shape the communities in which we will live, work and play in the future.
