Our mission is to provide you with reliable, up-to-date computing and software services in support of teaching and learning at the Lindner College of Business.

Laptop requirement

Laptops are required for all Lindner College of Business students. More detailed laptop information is available here.

Business software

Once registered as a Lindner student, information on accessing needed software is provided within Lindner Central. Online or distance learning students can access software through our Virtual Labs environment.

Some Information Systems programs and courses require software that is provided by Microsoft through a subscription. Information can be found in Lindner Central

UCVLabs

The Lindner College of Business, in conjunction with UCIT, provides virtual computers for all students in the College. The software required for coursework at LCB is installed and available for student use on these virtual computers. Students connect remotely to the virtual environment by downloading, installing, and using the VMWare Horizon client which is completely free of charge. UCVLabs is accessible from your PC or Mac anytime, day or night, on campus or off. This is especially useful for students who use Apple laptops and need to use software that only runs on Microsoft Windows. When using UCVLabs, be sure to save your work to a cloud service such as Box@UC or Dropbox, or to a USB drive.
