The American Marketing Association named a Volunteer of the Year Award in honor of Lindner College of Business Associate Professor-Educator Ric Sweeney, a longtime champion of the organization.
Sweeney, who serves as director of Lindner's business honors Circle of Excellence program, has been a member of the AMA since 1996 and a volunteer for nearly 20 years.
Sweeney is the immediate past chairperson of the AMA. He served on the board of the Professional Chapters Council ( PCC) for five years, the international board of directors for seven, the Audit & Finance Committee for eight and the AMA Foundation board as a trustee for two years. He also served as a member of the board of directors of the Cincinnati Chapter for six years.
Sweeney presented the inaugural “Ric Sweeney Volunteer of the Year Award” to Dennis Devlin of the Cincinnati Chapter at its Converge 2016 Leadership Summit. Devlin is the past president and a current board member of the Cincinnati Chapter of the AMA.
AMA’s Volunteer of the Year, created by the PPC in 2006, has been presented for the last 10 years to honor volunteer service to the association.
