The University of Cincinnati’s Center for Business Analytics will host Data Mining Day on February 12, 2014 at the Tangeman University Center. The event will feature keynote speaker John Elder, an international expert and author on data mining. Other presentations include “Data Mining Applications in Healthcare” and “Using Text Analytics to Determine Customers' Future Monetary Values and Future Risk”. Afternoon software demonstrations include SAS Enterprise Miner, RapidMiner, and Frontline System’s XLMiner.
The event will be held on the University of Cincinnati’s main campus at the Tangemen University Center beginning with a breakfast networking reception with master’s students from the Business Analytics and Information Systems programs at 8:00AM. In addition to John Elder, other presenters include Nick Street, Professor and Departmental Executive Officer, University of Iowa, discussing “Data Mining Applications in Healthcare” and Randy Collica, Sr. Solutions Architect at SAS, presenting on “Using Text Analytics to Determine Customers' Future Monetary Values and Future Risk”. Attendees will have the choice of attending two afternoon software demonstrations from leading data mining software companies: SAS Enterprise Miner, RapidMiner and Frontline System's XLMiner. The UC center for Business Analytics hosts several events and training courses on topics related to business intelligence, data visualization, big data modelling, data mining, and prescriptive analytics. All events and programs are open to the public.
