Applying and Interviewing for Business Honors
Admission to Lindner Business Honors (LBH) is a competitive process based on a review of the whole student. To be considered for LBH, students must, at minimum, qualify for the Cincinnatus Scholarship. To be considered for the Cincinnatus Scholarship, freshman applicants must have submitted a complete University of Cincinnati freshman admission application no later than December 1. Criteria for the Cincinnatus scholarship program varies each year. The middle 50% of current freshman business Cincinnatus Scholars have a high school GPA ranging from 3.64-3.90, an ACT composite score ranging from 27-31 (SAT 1280-1440), or are in the top five percent of their high school classes.
Additionally, the Lindner Business Honors seeks students who have demonstrated leadership experience throughout co-curricular activities in high school, who articulate a compelling story in their application for admission, and who come highly recommended by high school teachers, coaches, etc. The middle 50% of current freshmen business honors students have a weighted high school GPA ranging from 3.97-4.34, and an ACT composite score ranging from 29-33 (SAT 1350-1510).

What are Lindner Business Honors interviews?
Exceptional high school seniors are invited to UC's campus to learn more about our honors opportunities and to be considered for the Lindner Business Honors programs: Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS, Marvin P. Kolodzik Business Scholars, and the Circle of Excellence.
Is there a separate application to be considered for selection?
There is no separate honors application. The UC Freshman Application (Common App) is the only application needed.
How will I be placed into an honors program?
Your email invitation indicates the program(s) for which you will interview. The admission committee will determine which program is the best fit based on your qualifications and interests.
Where are interviews held?
Lindner Business Honors interviews take place in the Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, Carl H. Lindner Hall, 2925 Campus Green Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45220. Please check in at Lindner Hall 103 before your interview. Parking is available in the Campus Green Garage.
How should I dress for an interview?
The dress code for interviews is business casual, which includes slacks or khakis, a dress shirt or blouse, an open-collar or polo shirt, and dress shoes (including flats). A short outdoor tour is included in the interview process, so dress accordingly.
Why do I need to interview?
We want to get to know you, and we understand that you have an important decision to make! A face-to-face conversation gives us a chance to learn more about each other. At Lindner you're much more than just your GPA and test scores.
Who is involved in the interview process?
During your visit to campus you'll be meeting with faculty and staff as well as current students and alumni.
What are some tips for a successful interview?
Be yourself! Tell us about your strengths, interests and passions. Get a feel for the people you meet and ask yourself if you are comfortable and excited about being on campus.
Be prepared. Ask lots of questions about what being an honors student at Lindner is all about. Classes? Work experience? Study abroad? Campus life? These are all great areas to explore. This will help you determine if UC and the Lindner College of Business are right for you!

What are the next steps?
Offers will be extended for each program. There are no wait lists or options to move into another program if offers are declined.
Acceptance letters will be sent via email and US Mail no later than mid-March, after January and February interviews are concluded.
Transfer and Transition students
Each business honors program may accept a limited number of transfers each year, with accepted transfers applying in spring and summer for fall admission. Current transfer students have an average University (all college work) GPA of 3.8 with a passion for business, extensive involvement in extracurricular activities and organizations, and strong leadership qualities. Interested students must complete the online Lindner Business Honors Transfer Application and submit two completed recommendation surveys. This application qualifies applicants for consideration across all three business honors programs.
The Fall Transfer Admission application should be completed no later than March 1. Additionally, students who are transitioning to Lindner from another UC college must submit a Change in College form no later than March 1 and have no more than 60 credit hours completed to be considered for admission into Lindner Business Honors.
