Johnson Investment Counsel Investment Lab

Thanks to the generosity of Timothy (Tim) Johnson, PhD, and his wife Janet, the Lindner College of Business is home to the Johnson Investment Institute and the Johnson Investment Counsel - Investment Lab. The investment lab, with its simulated trading-floor, is a focal point of innovation within the university’s new Carl H. Lindner Hall.

Tim Johnson, PhD, is the founder of Cincinnati-based Johnson Investment Counsel and a former University of Cincinnati finance professor. As both a practitioner and former professor, Dr. Johnson understands the importance of providing students and faculty with access to state-of-the-art industry software and real-time data.

This new facility will provide students with hands-on experience using industry tools and data which will substantially improve their future employment opportunities. In addition, the faculty will have the opportunity to incorporate the investment lab into their finance curricula.

During the 2020 spring semester the following courses will be taught in the Investment Lab: Markets and Trading, Real Estate Valuation, Alternative Investments, Risk Management, Portfolio Management, and the Student-Managed Fund course.
