The leadership team at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business is composed of three associate deans, an assistant dean and integral staff leadership positions, all with highly focused, yet interdependent priorities.

Marianne W. Lewis, PhD

Dean and Professor of Management

Dean Lewis has earned numerous teaching and research awards throughout her academic career. An international expert on organizational paradoxes, her research explores tensions and competing demands surrounding leadership and innovation. She applies her renowned paradox lens across such diverse contexts as strategy, product development, organizational change, governance and technology implementation. Her paper, “Exploring paradox: Toward a more comprehensive guide,” received the Academy of Management Review Best Paper Award in 2000 and is among the most cited in the field. Her work appears in such top journals as the Harvard Business Review, Academy of Management Journal and Organization Science. In 2022, she released a co-authored book titled “Both/And Thinking: Embracing Creative Tensions to Solve Your Toughest Problems.” Dean Lewis earned her PhD from the University of Kentucky.

Robin Brinkman

Executive Director, Strategic Operations

Robin provides strategic leadership and solutions to assist the college in achieving its operational goals of sustainability and brand through the support of excellence, accessibility and elevating the recognition of Lindner as a leading urban public business school. Robin manages the Strategic Operations Team, which is comprised of the Building & Events, Information Technology, Marketing & Communications, and Scheduling & Analytics departments. She also serves as the Chair of the Lindner Staff Development Committee and is the college’s representative on UC’s Return to Campus COVID-19 Team. Robin has over 20 years of experience providing financial and business advisory services in a variety of sectors. She specializes in the development of data-driven operational and financial tools to support strategic decision-making, improve efficiencies, and foster innovation and collaboration. A first-generation college student and UC graduate, Robin has degrees in finance and quantitative analysis.

Assistant Dean, Inclusive Excellence

Nick is responsible for developing the strategic vision for Lindner’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. His goals of creating and maintaining inclusive spaces are achieved by focusing on the recruitment, retention and support of diverse students, staff and faculty. His passion for helping diverse communities stems from his experience as the son of an immigrant and as a first-generation college student. Nick, who earned his Juris Doctor from the DePaul University College of Law, previously served as Assistant Director of Inclusion & Involvement at UC Blue Ash. He is a National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional and a Cultural Intelligence Center CQ® Certified Facilitator.

Senior Business Officer

Rebekah provides innovative financial leadership to help achieve the college’s strategic initiatives and ensure sustainability. She is responsible for long-range strategic financial planning as well as the day-to-day operations of the Business Affairs Office. Serving effectively and efficiently in this role is made possible through collaboration with accomplished staff and the application of lessons learned from more than 26 years of managing accounting affairs in public, non-profit and corporate settings. She previously served as Assistant Dean for Administration on academic executive leadership teams at Miami University for over 10 years. Rebekah received her business administration degree with a concentration in accounting from Indiana University.

Senior Associate Dean, Faculty, Research & Lindner Culture, Professor of Management

Dr. Masterson coordinates faculty research and development, RPT, academic leaves, workload and Digital Measures, as well as oversees the Doctoral Program and Lindner staff activities. She teaches organizational behavior, leadership and human resource management; and she was awarded the EXCEL Undergraduate Teaching Award, the Lindner Award for Excellence in Service to Research and UC’s Excellence in Mentoring of Doctoral Students Award. Her research interests include organizational justice, workplace relationships and workspace design. Her research appears in the Academy of Management JournalAcademy of Management Review and the Journal of Applied Psychology, among others. She currently serves on the editorial review boards for three other management journals. Her PhD is from the University of Maryland.

Associate Dean, Graduate Programs & Partnerships, Professor of Operations Management

Dr. Sox oversees the Lindner's graduate programs and its 10 centers, institutes and partnerships. He also coordinates executive education opportunities, and serves as liaison with UC’s 1819 Innovation Hub and the business community at large. He previously served as department head and University Chair of Manufacturing Management in the Culverhouse College of Business (Alabama). His research and teaching interests are in in the application of operations research and statistics to business analytics problems in supply chain management, operations planning and scheduling, inventory control, and logistics. His research has appeared in such top-tiered journals as the International Journal of Management ScienceJournal of Management Analytics and International Journal of Services and Operations Management. He earned his PhD from Cornell University.

Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs & Student Experience; Associate Professor of Operations, Business Analytics, and Information Systems

Dr. Windeler oversees the portfolio of undergraduate programs, including majors, minors and certificates, as well as co-op, study abroad and co-curricular engagement. She is also an Associate Professor in the department of Operations, Business Analytics and Information Systems (OBAIS), and was formerly OBAIS Interim Assistant Department Head. Her teaching focuses on the development of information systems and management of IT professionals. Her research focuses on the management of distributed collaboration (e.g., remote work, virtual teams) and the attraction, motivation and retention of a diverse and inclusive IT workforce. Her work has appeared in elite IS journals, including MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research. She serves as an associate editor of MIS Quarterly and Journal of the AIS. She earned her PhD at the University of Arkansas.
