Message from the Dean
Opportunities for transformational impact arise during times of transformational change.
At the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, our opportunities are both energizing and visible. Just come visit us in our new Carl H. Lindner Hall. At approximately 225,000 square feet, this facility offers 70 percent more space than our former building — an impressive 30 square feet of learning space per student.
Yet more impressive than its size is its design. Created for tomorrow’s learners, Lindner Hall embodies the University of Cincinnati's strategic direction of Next Lives Here. Flexible, state-of-the-art classrooms and labs paired with ample space for study, team collaboration and events empower personalized learning, teaching innovation and breakthrough research. At the heart of campus, the new Lindner Hall symbolizes the changes that have occurred and the transformation still to come.
As I write this, faculty and staff are preparing for fall semester. Soon our quiet building will come alive with students — including the largest and most diverse first-year class in our college’s history — full of curiosity and ambition. We’ll open our doors to alumni and supporters for many inaugural events, including our formal ribbon-cutting, alumni open house and the university’s bicentennial homecoming. We will strengthen our trusted partnerships with the Greater Cincinnati business community and nurture new relationships. Finally, we’ll be crafting, and then implementing, Lindner Vision 2030 to fuel our transformation and ensure a future of impact, innovation and inclusion.
I’d like to express my deep gratitude for the sustained leadership that came before me, those who helped the Lindner College of Business gain recognition as one of the top public business schools by U.S. News & World Report and Bloomberg Businessweek. My special thanks to the momentum enabled by former Dean David Szymanski and Interim Dean Nicolas Williams.
Just as the dynamic business world is always changing, so are we. The dust isn’t settling any time soon.
