Message from the Dean
Dear alumni, supporters and friends of Lindner,
The Carl H. Lindner College of Business is at an inflection point. Since 2011, our college has more than doubled in size, while our innovations continue to drive student success, raise our reputation and foster a vibrant, inclusive community.
At Lindner, as in business and in life, change is constant. Yet this issue of Portfolio also highlights a paradox: the more things change, the more they stay the same.
We stay true to our purpose. At Lindner, we empower business problem solvers.
Student success is our top priority. As a leading co-op business school, academic and hands-on experiences fuel transformational learning. This fall, we will roll out universal co-op, ensuring that all undergraduates gain multiple paid, professional experiences before graduation. Real-world experiences permeate our programs, building students’ problem-solving skills, confidence and resilience. These experiences range from project-based learning (capstones and student consulting) and student-managed funds (investment, cryptocurrency and venture capital) to study abroad and study away (international and domestic travel programs).
Within Lindner, our faculty and staff model the way. We nurture a culture of problem solvers, evidenced by our high-performing, caring and collaborative experts. Their impact can be seen daily, and is embedded in the following pages, from their dedication to students and program innovation, to their thought leadership positively affecting the business world.
Our commitment to forging valued partnerships brings our purpose full circle. Our talented students, faculty and staff build mutually beneficial connections with our alumni, employers and global partners. Further, our purpose is tightly aligned with UC’s strategic direction of Next Lives Here, helping Lindner serve and lead our great university. My conversation with UC President Neville Pinto, PhD, reinforces Lindner and UC’s shared pathways.
I am deeply grateful for our tremendous Lindner community. My heartfelt thanks to all who continually raise the bar for excellence, drive growth through innovation and impact, and ensure a culture of belonging and mutual support.
As we celebrate our achievements, we are poised for even greater success. Please engage with us in our next phase. I invite you to visit Lindner Hall, learn how to hire a Lindner co-op or graduating student, or reach out to explore other ways to get involved and to keep learning.
