The Lindner Honors-PLUS program is a five-year undergraduate program for students seeking a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management (BSIM) or Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics (BSBA) at the Lindner College of Business.
The PLUS criteria guide the selection of students as well as program expectations. All scholars exemplify the following criteria:
Promise as a business professional
Leadership in school and community activities
Understanding of the global marketplace and diverse cultures
Success through talent, commitment, dedication and effort
The program develops students through rigorous honors classes and seminars, which supplement the Lindner College of Business curriculum. However, this commitment doesn’t stop outside the classroom. The program includes many additional experiences, such as Camp Joy, an etiquette dinner, co-op and the international trip. At the time of graduation, Lindner Honors-PLUS scholars are fully prepared to enter the professional work force and become future business leaders.
Students in the program are required to live in the honors dorm during their freshman year and take many of their core business classes together throughout college. This creates a community of scholars who help each other realize their maximum potential and develop a strong network that will last for a lifetime.
To be eligible for admission into Lindner Honors-PLUS, students must meet the requirements and apply for admission to the University of Cincinnati as a freshman in the Lindner College of Business. Applicants should also have:
- a minimum GPA of 3.2
- demonstrated leadership potential
Only 25-30 freshmen and 2-3 transfer students are admitted each year, with about 80% from Greater Cincinnati. The freshman class of 2011 had an average ACT score of 31, average class rank of 4.8% and five valedictorians. All had extensive leadership and extracurricular involvement.
The Lindner Honors-PLUS program hosts recruiting breakfasts for high school seniors every October and for high school juniors every April. For more information about these events, contact your high school counselor or Ashley McFarland at firstname.lastname@example.org the month prior to the breakfast.
All Lindner Honors-PLUS students receive an annual full in-state tuition scholarship per semester up to a maximum of 8 semesters of academic study when combined with any earned Cincinnatus award.
Any additional award(s) earned beyond the combined Lindner Honors-PLUS and Cincinnatus scholarships, if earned, may be applied to annual fees, room and board charges, and out of state fees which are the responsibility of the student.
