Carl H. Lindner College of Business

The Lindner Fast Track

On Welcome Day at the Lindner College of Business, we group Freshmen into Learning Communities of approximately 20 students. Students take many of their first-year classes with their Learning Community team, making it easy to build friendships and get to know their professors. These relationships become invaluable as students begin working on team projects and creating their college life at UC.

Each student Learning Community acts as a team throughout the Lindner Fast Track and works together on Project Strategy, Project Innovation and Project Impact.

Project Strategy
Students perform a strategic analysis of a real-world firm such as Procter & Gamble, Target and the Cincinnati Reds. Teams meet with executives from the organization, research and brainstorm and ultimately present their recommendations to the company.

Project Innovation
Students develop creative, entrepreneurial and innovation skills by dreaming up a new product or service that targets fellow college students.  Students then build a complete business plan for their idea.  College students started both Facebook and Google, will you
be next?

Project Impact
Students use their business acumen to help one of 20-plus different United Way of Greater Cincinnati partner organizations reach their goals. Project Impact partners range from The Girl Scouts to the Freestore Foodbank to the Northern Kentucky Education Council.
