Going Places

Industrial management scholar is on the road to his dream career.

"I've always loved cars," says Texan Andrew Oyedeji. But Andrew didn't realize how far cars could take him until he joined the industrial management program at the University of Cincinnati College of Business. Now, he is uniting his passion for engineering with his strong business-mindedness, a combination which has taken him into two co-op stints at Toyota. At UC, Andrew learned he could make a dream career out of something he loved.

Now considering graduate school after earning his bachelor's in 2011, Andrew hopes to someday be involved with Mercedes Benz. He wants to work for luxury, high-end cars, a future for which his co-ops and managerial study are preparing him well.

Andrew's studies have been supported by the resources he has found at UC: a Darwin Turner Scholarship; the African American Cultural and Research Center, which is his "favorite place on campus;" and the Marvin P. Kolodzik Business Scholars Program, which enabled him to study in Brussels, Antwerp and Paris.

And when he's not busy at work, Andrew socializes with his fraternity brothers at Alpha Phi Alpha and relaxes at local entertainment venue Newport on the Levee. At UC, Andrew says, "I'm exactly where I need to be."
