High-Impact Research

Fostering faculty excellence through intellectual freedom, stimulation and support.

High-impact research and experienced-based education drive the College of Business strategy. High impact denotes the ability to influence the academic profession and management practice. Integrating world-class experience and real-world experience, however, requires an exceptional learning environment – one that supports faculty efforts to publish in leading academic journals, and to work with corporate partners, keeping faculty abreast of cutting-edge issues for current and future business leaders.

One way to enable high-impact research is through our Centers. In each of these initiatives, faculty work hand-in-hand with industry leaders to identify and solve some of the most pressing business issues. In many centers, students participate in studies, extending their learning experience.

Our faculty contribute to their academic fields by publishing in scholarly journals and by presenting at professional meetings. Groups of faculty with similar interests may form Research Groups. Visiting faculty, research consortia and shared working papers further enhance our learning environment, supporting intellectual debate and interdisciplinary collaboration.

One measure of success is our “top 40” research ranking amongst more than 900 business schools. As you explore individual department sites, faculty achievements are clearly evident. Yet we also are part of a larger family of scholars at UC. Visit the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to see how UC rates in terms of grants and other sponsored research projects.
