MS-Finance:  A curriculum designed to fit your personal interests

The Lindner College of Business MS-Finance is a rigorous and intensive program that provides you with in-depth training in analytical techniques through a well-designed curriculum that teaches you both the theory and practice of today’s finance. The MS-Finance curriculum combines a strong core of required courses with a variety of advanced MS and MBA electives. Small MS-Finance classes and courses taken with MBA students maximize interaction and learning throughout the program.

There are 30 semester credit hours required in total (beyond any needed courses to satisfy the pre-requisite requirements). Your program can be completed in two semesters beginning with the fall semester in August.

The Basic Business Knowledge (BBK) requirements for all master's degrees offered in the Lindner College of Business are met by the pre-requisite classes in Business Analytics, Finance, and Economics along with Financial Accounting in the first semester.

Electives:  You may take any finance course that is not required for your focus area or other graduate level courses in ECON, MGMT, BANA, etc. The director of the MS-Finance program has final approval of all electives.

*If you choose not to select a focus area, you must still take one of the capstone courses.

**Includes the capstone experience/requirement.

***Students obtaining a focus in Real Estate who took ECON 8080 (which is 2 credit hours) must obtain at least 4 credit hours of electives. Because most elective courses are 3 credit hours, this may necessitate taking a second elective. Note that pre-term courses can be used to satisfy elective requirements.
