MBA Full-time Curriculum

The UC MBA

Key Features of the Full-time Curriculum

A Global Perspective: Today's business world is increasingly integrated across the globe - and so is our MBA program. Both the full-time and part-time curriculum include multiple courses on the global economic and cultural context of business. In addition to these core courses, a variety of international study abroad programs are available which allow students to experience global business by studying at our Global Partnership Institutions located in France, Spain, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Thailand and Chile.

Specialization: Students take 16 quarter hours of electives. These electives can be used to (1) form a concentration, (2) satisfy both MBA and MS requirements, or (3) form a unique collection of courses to meet a specialized need not met by concentrations. The set of concentrations include:

  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Finance
  • Information Systems
  • International Business
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Operations Management
  • Quantitative Analysis

Specialization Through the MBA/MS Degree Option: We have responded to the national trend of employers seeking managers with the solid general management, communication and leadership skills provided by an MBA combined with the higher level of technical specialization in functional areas provided by Masters of Science Degrees in business disciplines. With just two additional quarters of specialized course work beyond the MBA, you can obtain a higher degree of technical expertise than is available in standard two-year MBA programs along with the MS degree designation that signals your mastery to employers. Because MS degree requirements also satisfy MBA elective requirements, you can obtain both degrees in a shorter period of time than if you were to obtain them separately. Joint MBA/MS are degrees offered in the following functional areas:
