Application Instructions

  1. Start by completing an application online.
  2. In the online application process you will also be asked to submit a CV or resume.  A CV or resume will be most helpful to your application if it highlights previous related work experience, academic competencies, professional certifications, or technical skills not apparent from your transcripts and test scores.
  3. In the online application process you will be asked to submit a statement of purpose.  It is most helpful if this statement highlights how the MA in Applied Economics will help you to obtain your desired career goals.
  4. The online application process will ask you for your GRE or GMAT scores, as well as scores indicating English proficiency (if required).  It is important that you also have these scores sent directly to the University of Cincinnati from ETS.  The ETS code for the University of Cincinnati is 1833.
  5. The online application process will ask you for the names of at least two (2) recommenders.  It is most helpful if at least one of these recommenders can evaluate your ability in economics and statistics.

It is important that you send your official transcripts of all previous college courses and degrees directly to the Lindner College of Business. The mailing address is:

Application Deadlines for Fall Semester Admission

We encourage you to apply as early as you can, since new students will only be accepted until all program openings have been filled. 

  • March 15. Deadline for international student applications and for first round financial aid consideration.
  • April 15.  Deadline for response to our first round letters of admittance
  • August 1.  Applications only accepted after this date under special circumstances.

Application Review Procedures:

Once your application folder is complete, the admissions committee will review it and make a decision within several weeks. For example, if you complete your folder by early January, you will probably know about the decision on your admission by the end of that month.
