The Master of Science in Business Analytics program at the University of Cincinnati’s Lindner College of Business achieved an exceptional ranking in this year’s Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Masters in Business Analytics Global Rankings. Among more than 300 schools from over 40 countries, Lindner ranked number 18 globally and number 7 nationally among U.S. public universities.

This year’s global QS rankings were the most comprehensive of their kind. The QS rankings consider five factors: alumni outcomes, diversity, employability, thought leadership and value for money. QS ranked the Lindner M.S. in Business Analytics program number 5 in the world in value for money, which looks at the return on investment and the average payback period after graduation. This was 125% above the global average and 68% above the U.S. average. Additionally, the business analytics program performed above the global average in terms of alumni outcomes.

“UC’s Business Analytics program has a long history of excellence and practical application” said Operations, Business Analytics and Information Systems department head, Michael Fry, PhD. “Our students not only receive exceptional academic training in analytics, but they get to apply this knowledge by working on projects with top firms such as Procter & Gamble, GE Aviation, Macy’s, US Bank and others.”

The Master of Science in Business Analytics program admits students with strong quantitative backgrounds who gain technical expertise in practical business applications of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics. In addition to gaining real world experience through case studies and analytics projects with business organizations, students learn to use analytics tools (statistical methods, optimization and simulation) and software (SQL, SAS, R, Python, Big Data/Hadoop, Tableau). The program is designed for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) oriented students and professionals seeking to become data scientists and analysts or advance their careers.  The full-time program takes 9-12 months to complete and classes are scheduled to accommodate part-time working professionals.

The 2018 ranking of the Lindner Master of Science in Business Analytics program follows a recent run of accolades for Lindner’s graduate degrees. Just recently, Bloomberg Businessweek ranked the Lindner MBA program No. 1 in Ohio, and, among public institutions, No. 1 in the Midwest and No. 6 nationally for alumni satisfaction. Lindner’s online graduate Taxation program is also ranked No. 4 among public universities according to U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, InformationWeek named Lindner’s graduate Data Analytics program among the Top 20 programs in North America.
