Alexandra Land, BBA β15, and Michael Hogan, CEAS β13, relied on their professional sales skills to win a $1,000 Sales Champion Scholarship offered by Reynolds & Reynolds, a company that caters to car dealers, in Dayton, Ohio.
βThe purpose of the Reynolds & Reynolds Sales Champion Scholarship is to provide a small financial stipend to a sales student who epitomizes professionalism and exhibits a passion for selling,β says Jane Sojka, an associate professor-educator of marketing and director of the UC Center for Professional Selling in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business.
Land and Hogan exemplify the sales professional description. Based on essay responses, sales passion and leadership skills, the two were awarded the tuition money and will serve as brand ambassadors on campus to create awareness for Reynolds and Reynolds through fall. They are also expected to help with Reynolds and Reynolds Career Day on November 30, 2012, at the Lindner College of Business, helping to facilitate student-employer connections.
Land and Hogan will soon put their sales skills to the test, as the two are set to represent UC at the Indiana University National Sales Team Competition on October 26, 2012. Hogan will also compete at the Ball State Competition on October 12, 2012.
Land is a marketing major with professional sales minor. Hogan is a biomedical engineering major who wants to pursue a sales career in medical devices. Land placed first and Hogan second in the 2012 Keg of Nails Sales Competition at the University of Louisville.
