UC NEWS: UC Army and Air Force ROTC Cadets to Be Commissioned as Officers

Six graduating cadets from the Carl H. Lindner College of Business among those appointed as second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.

Six Lindner College of Business students will be among 35 graduates participating in a commissioning ceremony by UC's Army Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC).

The following ROTC Army cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants at the June 8 ceremony:

Daniel Hartoin, from Hamilton, Ohio, is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and is commissioning as a Transportation Second Lieutenant.

Tyler McFarland, from Ottowa-Glandorf, Ohio, will commission as an Armor Second Lieutenant. He will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Rachel Mercier, from Catonsville, Ohio, will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Adjutant General Corps.

The following Air Force ROTC cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants at the June 10 ceremony:

John Boylson, of Cincinnati, Ohio, will be assigned to Vandenberg AFB, California. He is earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Kory Cookson, of Perrysburg, Ohio, will be assigned to Vance AFB, Oklahoma. He is earning a bachelor’s degree in business finance.

Hoang Dang, of Beavercreek, Ohio, will be assigned to Keesler AFB, Mississippi. He is earning a bachelor’s degree in business information systems.
