UC Lindner College of Business Professor to Address City of Cincinnati Departments

Executive director of MS-Marketing program at the Lindner College of Business will be speaking to 21 City of Cincinnati managers about effective persuasion techniques.

On August 9, Drew Boyd, professor and executive director of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business master of science (MS) marketing program, will deliver a seminar on "Persuasion in Practice" to City of Cincinnati managers from various departments including the Police, Transportation & Engineering, Community Development, Metropolitan Sewer District, Planning, Finance, and Parks.

Boyd is a recognized authority, educator, and practitioner in the fields of innovation, persuasion, and social media. He specializes in training professionals to use the principles of persuasion to sell their ideas and business cases. The seminar will cover the six principles of persuasion as researched by Dr. Robert B. Cialdini, the leading authority on social influence. These principles include: reciprocity, liking, consensus, authority, consistency, and scarcity. The goal of the Boyd's seminar is to educate the managers on how to ethically persuade others while improving personal and professional relationships.
