Business Students Receive Recognition and Scholarships from Sigma Phi Epsilon

Students from the Carl H Lindner College of Business received scholarships and recognition for excellence at the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity’s annual Balanced Man Scholarship banquet held Sunday, September 18, 2011.

Several students from the Carl H Lindner College of Business were among the 15 scholarships awarded by the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at their annual Balanced Man Scholarship banquet held Sunday, September 18, 2011. These scholarships are awarded to current brothers in SigEp based on their achievements during the previous academic year, and are also awarded to incoming Freshmen based on their overall accomplishments and excellence during their high school careers.

Four current SigEp students from the Lindner College of Business received recognition, including:
Brandon Trame, a Kolodzik Business Scholar majoring in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, recipient of the James Feltner Scholarship for excellence among first year students
John Ruther, a member of the Lindner Honors PLUS program majoring in Finance, recipient of the Don Hoback Memorial Scholarship for outstanding athletic accomplishment
Drew Dulle, a Kolodzik Business Scholar majoring in Marketing, recipient of the Ohio Theta Scholarship recognizing excellence among 2nd and 3rd year students
Chris Hais, a Kolodzik Business Scholar majoring in Finance, recipient of the George Mcilveen Scholarship recognizing excellence in service among seniors at UC

Additionally, 3 scholarships were awarded to incoming Lindner College of Business students,including:
Hayden Klei, a Cincinnatus Scholar and recipient of the Ric Sweeney Renaissance Scholarship
Neil Mullen, a Lindner Honors PLUS scholar and recipient of the Gary Lessis Scholarship
Andre Elkins, a Lindner Honors PLUS scholar and recipient of the Eric Weise Scholarship

The Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship banquet is held annually to recognize excellence and achievement, and is part of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Program. This year’s banquet featured speakers including Dr. Santa Ono, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost; Bill Mulvihill, Executive Vice President for the UC Foundation; and Ric Sweeney, Assistant Professor of Marketing and Faculty Fellow for SigEp.
