Two accounting programs (Undergraduate and Masters of Science) at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business have been named to the Public Accounting Report’s Top 15 national rankings list for schools with 15 or fewer full-time faculty.
Both undergraduate and graduate lists are compiled annually and based upon survey results from accounting faculty throughout the country. Schools are categorized by the size of their faculty and then ranked using the results of the surveys.
“While UC has always produced great accounting graduates, we are pleased that other universities are now aware of the quality of our programs” says Robert Larson, accounting department head and professor at the Lindner College of Business. “We are constantly reviewing our curriculum, making sure it is up-to-date and meeting the needs of all students entering the accounting profession.”
In 2015, the Lindner Master of Science in Accounting program rose to No. 8 on the Public Accounting Report’s list and was ranked among other nationally recognized programs such as University of Virginia, University of Pittsburgh, University of Massachusetts and Case Western Reserve University.
Lindner’s undergraduate program was ranked at No. 13. Other schools included in the undergraduate rankings include Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Kansas.
The new rankings are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the accounting faculty at Lindner, says Larson.
“As we begin a major review of both undergraduate and graduate accounting curriculums, we hope to further improve upon our rankings in the future,” he says.
