UC Center for Entrepreneurship Announces FUSE Logo Competition Winner

The Center for Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (CEC) is at it again! For the last several months CEC executive director, Dr. Tom Dalziel and key members of the CEC partnership have been planning FUSE, a community-wide entrepreneurship networking event that will take place this spring. The purpose of FUSE is to facilitate talent acquisition for sponsors and startups, connect students with employment opportunities, honor members of the UC CEC support system, and recognize students, faculty, and community entrepreneurs.

Over winter break, the event planning committee hosted a logo competition open to students from all UC colleges. The CEC offered a $150 cash prize for the creative genius whose design illustrated the theme of the event and also portrayed the vision of the CEC as a whole.

The CEC would like to take this time to thank the dozens of participants that submitted a logo. “We are delighted to see the widespread passion for entrepreneurship from students across UC,” exclaimed Dr. Dalziel. Talented Karyn Georgilis from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) won the competition with an innovative design concept of professional quality. Karyn is a junior Industrial Design student. Her co-op experiences have included LPK in Cincinnati, an MIT Media Lab startup, and Yellow Window in Belgium. Karyn just completed an exchange semester in Tokyo, Japan and is currently enjoying her co-op with the Mayo Clinic's Center for Innovation. “We are very fortunate to have her work as the face of the event,” said Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club) President, Lauren Greenberg.

Cincinnati-based startups, entrepreneurial students from UC, and partners from all over the Midwest will be attending FUSE. The event is open to the public and will utilize a high quality mix and mingle approach. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided for all attendees. The evening will kick off with a brief welcome program and awards and recognition presentations will serve as transition opportunities for networkers. Event details will be available on our website in the next few weeks.
