Recession over, but effects could last longer than usual.

In a June 8, 2012 article in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Julie Heath, Economics Center director in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, says even though today's jobless rate is trending down (with the exception of May’s numbers showing a slight uptick), there are worrisome signs that this recession's effects will be felt for a longer time than is typical.

One of the main reasons, she says, lies in individuals who are part of the long-term unemployed.
