The good and bad news of Greater Cincinnati's housing market.

In a June 29, 2012 article in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Julie Heath, Economics Center director in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, says Cincinnati escaped dramatic escalation of housing prices as seen in other parts of the country. However, distressed mortgages occurred here much earlier than in other cities and were above the national average.

The result: homes here lost less of their value as a result of the bubble bursting yet have only rebounded to their 2000 levels while the rest of the country has recovered values to levels seen in 2003.
