Economics professor says overall economic impact of property tax rollback will be minimal.

Ben Passty, research assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati's Economics Center in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, says the property tax rollback to fill a $21 million gap in the stadium fund will be spread among many so the overall economic impact will be minimal.

The benefits, Passty says in a December 5, 2012 interview with WLWT-TV, come with more than dollars and cents.

"If we can make that agreement marginally more sustainable in order to get the social benefits, the cohesion, and the happiness and the possibility of cheering a team that will compete? That could work out to be a psychological win for people in this area," Passty said.
