UC American Marketing Association Chapter Recognized at International Conference

  • The American Marketing Association chapter at the UC College of Business received awards at the AMA's International Collegiate Conference for excellence in chapter planning, fundraising and programming, along with special recognition for National Marketing Week activities.

The UC collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) was recognized at the AMA's annual International Collegiate Conference on March 26, 2011, for excellence in key areas of chapter success including outstanding chapter planning, fundraising and programming. The chapter also received special recognition for activities held to celebrate National Marketing Week. These awards put the UC AMA chapter among an elite group of chapters internationally whose commitment to chapter operations and student success are recognized for their excellence.

"We are proud of our accomplishments this year and are excited to be in a class of elite chapters" stated UC AMA president Alex Spidare. During the 2010-2011 year, the UC AMA held a variety of events and activities, including a full week of speakers and career development activities during National Marketing Week, and co-hosted the first annual regional conference, which brought together 50 student AMA leaders from six universities in the Tristate area.

The AMA's International Collegiate Conference is held annually in New Orleans, bringing together over 1,300 students and their faculty advisors for a weekend of networking, team-building sessions and career development seminars.

The UC AMA chapter has more than 50 members and provides opportunities for students to grow professionally through community service projects, case study competitions, speakers, seminars and networking with the Cincinnati AMA chapter and their young professionals group. The American Marketing Association is North America's largest organization for marketing professionals, with over 30,000 members in 76 professional chapters and more than 250 collegiate chapters.
