Business Alumnus Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

  • The Business Courier honors Donald E. Hoffman, MBA '71, as the 2011 Health Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

On March 14, 2011 the Business Courier will host the 14th annual Health Care Heroes awards dinner, which will honor Donald E. Hoffman, MBA '71, former president and CEO of the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, as the 2011 Health Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award winner. The event is held each year in recognition of those who have made an impact in the community through their concern for patients, their research and inventions, their management skills, their innovative programs for employees and their service to the poor and uninsured.

Hoffman is a 1971 graduate of the UC College of Business, where he earned his MBA in marketing. In January 2011, he retired from the Health Foundation of Cincinnati as well as from his position as president and CEO of InterAct for Change, a full-service philanthropic consulting organization. Previously, he was senior vice president of administration with Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company and president of Cincinnati Bell Enterprises. He has served on the boards of ChoiceCare, the Center for Effective Philanthropy and the Health Policy Institute of Ohio.

Hoffman is a member of the Rotary Club of Cincinnati and a board member of Cincinnati Rotary Foundation. He is also a member of the Cincinnati Opera Advisory Board. Mr. Hoffman previously served on Cincinnati Institute of Fine Arts board, the Cincinnatus Association board and the Xavier University College of Business Advisory Council.
