Operations Management Faculty Member Elected to Board Position

  • Associate Professor Craig Froehle has been elected to the Board of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS).

Craig Froehle, PhD, operations and business analytics associate professor at the UC College of Business, will serve as a Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) Board Member for a two-year term, starting with the 2011 POMS conference held April 29-May 2, 2011 in Reno, NV.

About the Production and Operations Management Society: Founded in 1989, POMS is an international professional organization representing the interests of production and operations management professionals around the world. Its primary mission consists of supporting research in the field, dissemination of knowledge to academics and practitioners around the world, and promotion of the field's increasing importance to companies and organizations of all sizes as well as global and local economies.

About the Department of Operations and Business Analytics: Formerly known as the Department of Quantitative Analysis and Operations Management, the Department of Operations and Business Analytics changed its name to better reflect the skills and knowledge of its graduates and faculty. Operations and business analytics faculty research and teach a variety of analytical methods, such as optimization, simulation, and statistics, focusing primarily, but not exclusively, on solving operations management problems.
