UC Management Professor and Colleagues Receive Scholarly Achievement Award

  • The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology honors UC College of Business professor Hollensbe and her colleagues for Academy of Management Journal article.

The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) announced that Elaine Hollensbe, associate professor of management at the University of Cincinnati College of Business, along with co-authors Glen Kreiner (Penn State) and Mathew Sheep (Illinois State), will receive the Owens Scholarly Achievement Award at the SIOP annual conference in April 2011. Kreiner is a former UC professor and Sheep is an alumnus.

The Owens Award honors the author(s) of a refereed journal judged to have the highest potential to significantly impact the field of industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology, the scientific study of the workplace.

Hollensbe, Kreiner and Sheep are receiving this recognition for their 2009 paper, "Balancing Borders and Bridges: Negotiating the Work-Home Interface via Boundary Work Tactics" on the work-life balance of Episcopal priests, published by the Academy of Management Journal.
