George Vredeveld, director of the Economics Center for Education & Research and the Alpaugh Professor of Economics at the UC College of Business, discusses how education in personal finance and money management is in the best interest of individuals, families, businesses and the future of the country. Financial illiteracy, which weakens family ties and causes personal stress, also affects the workplace, costing the Cincinnati metro area an estimated $200 million a year in lost worker productivity.
