  • The UC Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association was named the Collegiate Marketer of the Year by the Cincinnati professional chapter of the AMA.

The UC Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association was awarded the Collegiate Marketer of the Year award by the Cincinnati professional chapter of the AMA at their annual Marketer of the Year Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 13, 2010. This award is given to the student or student group in the Cincinnati region that best exemplifies excellence in the area of marketing on the collegiate level, and is presented to students who exhibit results, creativity, and overall achievement of marketing objectives through school projects during the 2009-2010 school year.

This year's award was received for the UC AMA's work on the Kohler Save Water America Competition. The UC team, led by President Alex Spidare, competed against over 50 colleges nationwide to prepare a strategic marketing plan to promote events and activities to encourage water conservation in America.

In addition to receiving the award for Student Marketer of the Year, the UC AMA was also a finalist in this same category for their participation in the UNICEF Tap Project International Case Competition.

With over 60 members, The UC AMA exists to empower students through information, education, and relationships that will enrich their professional development and careers; to expand students' classroom work and knowledge into real-world skills and experiences; and to advance the thought, application, and ethical practice of marketing. In April, the UC AMA received special merit recognition at the AMA International Collegiate Conference for excellence in Chapter Planning and Professional Development.
