  • Leading industry speakers will present case studies and discuss approaches to achieving supply chain sustainability.

The Quantitative Analysis & Operations Management Department presents the Sixth Annual Workshop on Hot Topics in Supply Chain Analytics, Practice and Technology on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the TechSolve Inc. campus. This year's topic is "Sustainability's Impact on the Supply Chain." The issue of sustainability has become an increasing concern as lawmakers and global supply chain managers identify the need to modify supply chain operations to react to resource depletion and mitigate the detrimental environmental footprint of supply chains on the future.

The workshop will explore current practices in sustainable supply chain management, including measuring the environmental impact of supply chains, leveraging factors that influence the environmental footprint and discovering profit-enhancing innovations that give new meaning to waste elimination and revenue management. Industry leaders from P&G, GE Aviation, Ethicon Endo-Surgery and SAP will present case studies and discuss green practices in supply chains, along with opportunities for improvement, pitfalls to avoid and specific approaches for developing sustainable supply chains.

The workshop is sponsored by Les B. Altman, BBA '72; Accenture Foundation, Inc.; and TechSolve Inc.
