UC American Marketing Association Chapter Wins Awards at International Conference

  • The UC Chapter of the American Marketing Association receives special recognition at the AMA's International Collegiate Conference for excellence in Chapter Planning and Programming

The UC Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association was recognized at the AMA's annual International Collegiate Conference on Saturday, April 10, 2010 for excellence in key areas of chapter success. The UC AMA received special recognition for Outstanding Chapter Planning and Outstanding Programming, joining an elite group of chapters internationally whose commitment to chapter operations and student success are recognized for their excellence. Chapter President Alex Spidare received the awards on behalf of the UC AMA. "We are proud of our accomplishments this year, and are excited to be in a class of elite chapters" stated President Spidare. During the 2009-2010 year, the UC AMA held a variety of events and activities, including a full week of speakers and career development activities during National Marketing Week, and co-hosted a rare Cincinnati appearance by Magic Johnson.

The AMA's International Collegiate Conference is held annually in New Orleans, and brings together over 1,300 students and their faculty advisors for a weekend of networking, team-building sessions and career development seminars.

The UC AMA Chapter has over 50 members and provides opportunities for students to grow professionally through community service projects, case study competitions, speakers and seminars, and networking with the Cincinnati AMA Chapter and their Young Professionals group. The American Marketing Association is North America's largest organization for marketing professionals, with over 30,000 members in 75 professional chapters and over 250 collegiate chapters.
