  • QAOM Professor David Kelton, one of the world's leading experts in computer simulation, recently spoke about the use of simulation to a crowd of 1800 in Monterrey, Mexico.

David Kelton, faculty member in the QAOM Department, delivered an address entitled "Why Not, Why, How Not, and How To Simulate: Introduction & Applications" at XVI Congreso Industrial (16th Industrial Congress) held in October 2009 on the main campus of Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, ITESM (Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education), a leading private university in Monterrey, Mexico. The approximately 1,800 in attendance came from all over Mexico, and included both undergraduate and graduate students, university faculty members, and leaders from Mexican industry and businesses. The congress was jointly sponsored by 11 firms based or doing business in Mexico, along with the university, and was completely run by their undergraduate students.
