Kelton Assumes INFORMS Leadership Position

  • College of Business professor David Kelton takes on publications division for the national INFORMS organization.

David Kelton, professor of quantitative analysis, has been elected vice president of publications for the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). His term will extend from January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2010. Kelton's history with the organization uniquely qualifies him to fill this position as he has completed two very successful terms as Editor-in-Chief of the INFORMS Journal on Computing, held leadership positions in the INFORMS Simulation Society and the Winter Simulation Conference, and is a Fellow in both INFORMS and IIE. Additionally, he has extensive editorial experience with a range of important academic journals.

In addition to Kelton's editorial experience, he has published extensively, including in publications such as Operations Research, Management Science, the INFORMS Journal on Computing, IIE Transactions, Naval Research Logistics, the European Journal of Operational Research, the Journal of the American Statistical Association, and the Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, among others. His research interests and publications are in the probabilistic and statistical aspects of simulation, applications of simulation, statistical quality control, and stochastic models.
