MS-Business Analytics Admissions Procedures

The MS Business Analytics program offers full-time admission for Fall semester only. Part-time/domestic applicants interested in Spring semester admission can contact the program for consideration.

1. Determine If You Meet the Program Prerequisites 

Before applying to the program please verify that you meet our math pre-requisite requirements.

 

2. What You Will Need to Apply Online

  • A current resume
  • Goal statement with two essays. The application portal will ask you to upload your statement. Please append the two essay questions below into one document to upload into the application portal:
    • Describe a situation in your life in which you have failed to achieve a goal.  What did you learn from this experience? (Max. 400 words)
    • You just entered the elevator with a member of the Applicant Review Committee for the MS in Business Analytics.  You can only speak to this person for a very short time on the elevator.  What would you say to this individual so that they would look favorably upon your application?  (Max. 250 words)
  • A scanned digital copy of all transcripts from all prior academic institutions: 
    • Prospective University of Cincinnati students should upload a copy of their degree audit in the application. If admitted, they will not need to mail an official UC transcript.
    • Applicants who have received a degree in China must have their degrees verified by the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC).*  
    • Applicants with a three-year bachelor's degree should visit WES's free Degree Equivalency tool to determine whether their degree is equivalent to a four-year bachelor's degree in the U.S. Email graduate@uc.edu if you have any questions.
    • If admitted, you must then submit official copies of transcripts.
  • Contact information for two letters of recommendation. Please do not use a dossier service. At least one of your letters should come from a former professor or academic advisor, and neither letter should be from a relative, personal friend, current or past fellow student, or current or past co-worker. Email addresses must be provided for your references, as the university will request an electronic Letter of Recommendation.

3. Complete Online Application

Fall Semester 2017 Deadlines

International Applicants: January 31, 2017

Domestic Applicants: May 31, 2017

  • Prospective students are encouraged to complete applications as early as possible for consideration.
  • Upon completion, payment of an application fee by credit or debit card is required. Applications are not complete until this fee is paid. The application fee is $65.00 for domestic applicants, and $70.00 for international applicants.

4. Send Us Your Test Scores

Please have test scores (GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS) sent electronically from the testing organization.

  • GMAT: Can be sent using college/program name
  • GRE/TOEFL: Can be sent using school code 1833
  • IELTS: Can be sent to University of Cincinnati - Graduate School account
  • TOEFL Minimum: 95 internet based
  • IELTS Minimum: 6.5

 

5. We Review Your Materials

After an application is complete, we will begin the review process. Students will be notified if an interview is required, and when a decision is made.

 

6. We Send You Our Decision

After a decision on your application has been made, you will receive an email directing you to check the application status page for the admission decision. Your acceptance letter and all other materials will be accessible via the status page.
