The IS Department trains students to function at the intersection of business and information technology. It offers programs at the undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. levels. The MS program in IS was a pioneer among graduate programs at UC in requiring every full time student to do a co-op. In just a few short years, the program has achieved an international reputation as one of the top MS programs in IS in the country. Both the undergraduate and MS programs offer cutting edge courses supported by strong partnerships with a number of technology providers, including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Bluespring and, especially, SAP. The department has just introduced a 5 year combined BBA/MS program in IS, including a mandatory co-op. The Department is advised by a Board comprised of senior IS executives from some of the leading corporations in the region, including Kroger, P&G, GE, Citi, Western Southern, Luxottica, Great American, and Cisco. Faculty in the department are active researchers, publishing in the leading journals in the field, and holding (or having held) editorial positions in a number of journals, including Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, The DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems, Journal of Database Management, and International Journal of Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management.
