Staff Award

Description

This award honors one staff member annually for outstanding contribution to the vision of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business through internally and/or externally focused strategic initiatives that cultivate a premier academic institution for education, talent, and business knowledge. 

We are seeking nominees who exemplify the values of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, also known as The Lindner Way:

  • Personal - respect, integrity, and professionalism
  • Program - international, experiential, and collaborative
  • Pervasive - excellence, innovation, and leadership

Eligibility

Candidates may be part-time or full-time staff members with continuous employment within the Lindner College of Business for a minimum of one year.  Administrator positions at the Associate Dean level or higher are excluded from consideration.  A staff member may be the recipient of the award more than once but not in consecutive years.

Nominees should demonstrate excellence in several of the following criteria:

  • Provides a clear and focused sense of direction for co-workers that support the vision of the Lindner College of Business.
  • Encourages new ideas and solutions that improve personal, team, and operational effectiveness.
  • Creates a “can-do” climate and willingly accepts additional responsibility or authority.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and effective working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Prioritizes the goals and interests of the Lindner College of Business and University ahead of individual accomplishments.
  • Interjects originality into daily work through research, personal knowledge, and networking relationships. 
  • Sets an example by consistently modeling high standards of performance, honesty, and integrity.
  • Collaborates with business partners to expand global business knowledge and support organizational growth.

Procedure

Nominations can be submitted throughout the year by completing an online form that demonstrates how the staff member meets the award criteria.  Nominations may be prepared by staff, faculty, students, alumni, and business partners.  An eligible staff member may be nominated multiple times.  Nominees will be recognized amongst their peers throughout the year. 

Nominations will be submitted to a designated subgroup of the Staff Development Committee throughout the year.  By the annual call for nominations due date in the spring, the full Staff Development Committee will assess all nominations.  Members of this committee may be nominatedfor the award, but cannot vote for themselves.  The Staff Development Committee will consist of staff from a broad representation of Lindner College of Business departments. 

Once nominations are reviewed, the Staff Development Committee will recommend to the Dean the recipient of The Lindner Way staff award. 

Award

The recipient of The Lindner Way staff award will receive:

  • An honorarium of $1,500
  • Recognition at the annual Lindner College of Business Awards Reception
  • Engraved plaque or framed certificate recognizing the recipient’s selection
  • Name engraved on the plaque forThe Lindner Way staff award to be displayed in the lobby of Lindner Hall
